The VAT Consultancy Firm is a tax advisory firm recognized by the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB). Membership in the NOB ensures the quality of our services, the independence of our advisors, and the integrity of our organization as a tax advisory firm.
At TVCF, new employees in the tax advisory practice can become Associate Members of the NOB and pursue the NOB's practical training program to eventually become full NOB members themselves.The main requirement for recognition is that our firm must continuously meet the conditions set by the NOB's statutes for NOB-recognized tax advisory practices. These conditions are primarily of a formal nature and pertain to the structure and organization of our firm and its individual members, but they are not directly relevant to our clients.
To promote and safeguard the professional conduct of its members, the NOB has its own disciplinary jurisdiction, in which the professional practice of members is assessed against the professional and ethical rules laid down in the Rules of Professional Practice, particularly the Code of Conduct and the NOB Tax Principles. The Code of Conduct contains rules and standards regarding how the tax advisor carries out their profession. These rules cover various aspects of service provision, such as independence from clients, confidentiality, maintaining professional competence, professional liability, and financial aspects of client services.
The core provision of the professional and ethical rules pertains to honor and dignity: a member is obligated to carry out their work in an honest, diligent, and proper manner, comply with laws and regulations, and refrain from anything that would otherwise be contrary to the honor and dignity of the profession.
